Should TeamSpeak be enforced?
« on: July 04, 2007, 11:51:03 am »
Please comment your vote!

Seems that all ARPD members aren't using TeamSpeak, so there's an idea in the air, about making TeamSpeak usage enforced to all current and future ARPD members. So, I would like to know what the ARPD members and enthusiasts think about the idea.

And just to remind everyone that you don't need a microphone to join TeamSpeak. And even if you have one, you don't need to talk unless you want to. Though of course, it's recommended to talk also, to get the full benefit of the voiced police radio.

The most important thing is just to LISTEN to the police radio, so everybody stays up to date of what's happening in their PD.

:ps: Don't know what TeamSpeak is? - http://teamspeak.argonathrpg.com

I'm no ARPD yet but I could think why not everybody uses it. I dunno but first time I was on it I couldn't enter any channel and there was a guy with a very annoying voice on teamspeak(I'm not trying to insult anybody it's just because of TS codec) So I stopped TS because I can't join channels and I don't want to hear everybody's voice going through my GTA game.

you weren't registered I think, that is why you couldn't join the channels.
But every ARPD member will be registered.
For the annoying people are admins ;).

As one of the more active ARPD members, I say yes.

I have used teamspeak with Bundy, Katsu, xcasio, Andre just to name a few.

I think that using teamspeak should be a requirement in order to be promoted above cadet. Radio usage should also be looked at for promotion to FBI/SWAT, etc.

Make it a requirement Kaltsu - not an option.

You have to be registered with TeamSpeak, before you can switch between channels. Nowadays we have more server admins (SA) on TeamSpeak, so you can ask them to give you the permission to register with TeamSpeak.

What comes to the guy with annoying voice, it's possible that he did that in purpose, to disturb others. In such case, report him to a server admins.

Sorry to hear, that your start with using TeamSpeak wasn't very nice. But the fact is, that TeamSpeak police radio adds a whole new dimension to the police work. I would really appreciate, if you gave another try with TeamSpeak :).

but i have question

Maybe you were on wrong TeamSpeak server. We don't have such rules on Argonath RPG's TeamSpeak server.

:ps: Looks like some people have voted, but not posted a comment. If you vote, please also post a comment, so we get a more specific reason for your vote and can maybe use it to improve TeamSpeak in future.

Teamspeak should be enforced for one simple reason. You can most definitely speak faster then you can type, And as you speak you can still drive/run. In my opinion it is Much easier to use teamspeak then /r, But there are only ever 3 or 4 people on.

Also if it would be enforced. You will get less ARPD guys. You will get more annoying people. You will get more TS problems. That means TS admins gotta watch TS better. That means TS admins will have less time for them selves. That means.... I'm out of That means... Can someone think of more that means...?

Yes, that's just the idea. You most important thing is just to join TeamSpeak and listen to the police radio. You don't need to speak yourself. Though of course, if you're able to speak, it's highly recommended.

I can't use mine  can't connect to any sub channels don't know how PM me someone plz and tell me how to use it, thanks  :)

You need to be registered with TeamSpeak. Some SA can give you the right to register. If you see one online, just click on his name with right mouse button and click "Send Text-Message To Player".

Me and Kaltsu have spent all night trying to enfoce TeamSpeak. You ALL need to use it! REAL police officers use it in REAL life and this is RPG and you are required to play as close to REAL life as possible so TeamSpeak should be enforced. Don't be scared of speaking. :scary:

Kaltsus sexy voice alone is good enough reason to make TS enforced.

Seriously tho, it should be enforced when people are doing ARPD / Cop work, since its really useful.

talk on TS is more practical than use the /r chat, when there is people in TS
