It's taken that long for them to repair it? Wow, I'd seriously consider taking it somewhere else then.
Honestly, that sounds more like a hardware issue than anything Vista is doing. Is it just when you play games, or do other things cause it? Also, how much RAM does your new computer have?

Well, you have plenty of RAM, so unless the RAM itself is faulty, more than likely there is a piece of defective or broken hardware in your computer. Software/driver conflicts, heat, and dust can also cause these issues, but from the sound of it, that is not the case.

It could be something so small as a little crack on your motherboard that, when the computer has been on long enough and heats up, the heat could cause the space between the crack to expand just slightly, causing your computer to lock up due to circumstances unknown to itself.

Does it lag at all before locking up and freezing? Do the [Number Lock, Scroll Lock, Caps Lock] lights on your keyboard still work after it freezes, and does the Hard Disk Drive activity light still flash or stay on? (Its the one that flickers and blinks randomly when the computer is "thinking".)

i have no idea, its days ago so i cant see if all things still go on
but before it freezes there is nothing wrong,
you can just do things on normal speed
and it was on thursday, im whole day on school so the PC havent been on a lot that day
but, although  i would like to know more about PC's, i dont really care this time,
its getting repaired by ppl who do know something about it

Alright then. Still though, if the repair is taking that long, that is a little suspicious...
Good luck man. Hope it's resolved soon! :cop:

if it the computer just keep freezing then sorry to tell you, but you VideoCard is ruined, its either over heated or the fan might not be working probably. I had that problem, I haded to buy a new video card  so yea, you do need a new video card if its keep freezing every a min.

Although it could be the card, that is unlikely at this point Andy. He said it didn't lag at all up until it locked up on him and froze.
Anyway, yes, heat will damage the card. Dust can also be a major issue for it.

A notice to all: Keep your computers clean and dust-free or I promise you that you will have problems in the future.

dust isnt the problem, my room is clear  ;)
the video, i dont hope so its a good card,
but the repairs takes a damn long time,
so who knows what they found for fault,
and maybe in the card

No matter how clean your room is, there is always dust floating around. Because computer's use many fans in them, dusty air is constantly sucked in, and over time, it builds up. :)

don't forget that fans collects the dust  ;), and my video card was damaged because of dust and problems that was cause by the dust to my fan, which made the fan go slow that didn't let the video card cool down. Lets hope its fixed soon and I hope its not a problem with your video card, because video cards are kinda expansive
