|SAPD|: Community Service
« on: February 25, 2009, 12:56:41 pm »
San Andreas State Police Department
Community Service

Good day, Officers - this thread is to inform you of the capability you have to set community services. The thread will cover your role within community service penalties and suggested disciplinary actions, they are often much more effective then simply jailing a suspect if you think it will benefit the community and change the suspect, even the slightest modification to how they think criminally is a benefit to us in the long run.

Over-watch

The Officer's duty should he decide to set community service is to 'over-watch' the suspect as he performs his tasks within the set disciplinary action, the over-watch task can be assigned to another officer but only in such cases that demand it; if you are a higher rank reward lower ranks with money, it will make the task fun for them rather then bad for both people.

Community Services

  • Street Decontamination - Set a zone that has rubbish in for the suspect to clean up for a period of time.
  • Park Watch - Set a park for the suspect to tidy, de-weed and clean the water.
  • Redecoration Duty - Set an building or wall with graffitii for a suspect to re-paint, or a goverment building that needs a new lick of paint.
  • Repair Watch - Broken benches and fences, basic repair jobs around the community for the suspect to repair.
  • Etc - Come up with your own idea if you wish, just clarify it first.

NOTE 1: Not everyone will RP this, so keep it in mind with who your enforcing this to. If you've given someone else the job (this applys to high ranks) reward them with money.
NOTE 2: Ensure to give the suspect the equipment at a department first.
NOTE 3: Ensure you tie a "leash" around one of the suspects legs and then to the over-watch units own hand.
NOTE 4: If you are going to /su for the period of community service, ensure other units know not to engage the suspect, be sure to get an admin to unsuspect after the sentence.

I just experimented with this on the server, the assigned over-watch unit and the suspect thought it was a great idea, I rewarded the cadet with $1000 for the time spent and everyone left with an enjoyable experience. So go have your own! Good luck.

Not a bad input, I think i'd only use the last one though for suspects cleaning police vehicles, helping people cross the street well... that doesnt happen at all in Argonath really! Try and think of things that effect more then one person and aid the community like your cleaning police cars idea, but keep the ideas coming on the thread guys; it benefits us all. Glad you agree with the idea so far.

This is great idea!
I remember, when i was off-duty. I was speeding, James and other officers pulled me over and took me to Flint County. I had to walk back to LS->punishment for speeding.

This can really add more RP to criminal punishment sentences.

I find this as a very good idea indeed. Maybe we should start more often trying to put theese tasks into practice.
I shall report the results as soon as I punish a criminal to public service!
Name: Abbott, Jonathan.
Age: 23 (twenty-three).
Current employment: Argonath RPG Police Department - Senior Officer.

That was me :) And agreed, this is a good idea, and it also was a bit of fun to overwatch the suspect ;)
