Question
« on: March 21, 2009, 14:47:01 pm »
Hello
Maybe some of you have noticed that me Douglas_Hawkins has been at the LSPD and beeing a dispatcher. The thing is I came here for is, if that was possible to make a unit only that specialise in dispatching while other plays. As I have been inside the LSPD and beeing a dispatcher for 3 hours today, I founded it very funny and serious in a good way. I sugguest some of you guys to try it as you really feel you are helping other fellow cop mates, I don't know what you would think about it but write your oppinons.

To be hoenst if you want to do it there is nothing to stop you.

It does not even require additional script support.

Its a bit like the old chase monitoring I used to do from the SFPD helicopter, earn nothing but knowing that what your doing is helping others.

I've think that is something I will keep doing as I just have done it for allmost 5 hours and I still find it good. I will stop doing it if I get accepted into F.B.I and if not I will still be dispatching at the LSPD :).

At the moment there are some ideas about working as Trainer / Dispatcher / SWAT Operative etc., but we all have to wait for RS4 :)

I saw u being dispatcher too
I was helping u on air support unit :P

But few minutes later, u quiet... maybe u quited
And I love ur dispatches

I used to do too
But I do outside, coz u can see criminals on radar and see what ppl doing infront LSPD
I used to do inside, though that ppl will come inside and ask front desk, but no one come...
So I do outside

Hehe, I did quit as it can easly get boring after 2 hours then you need a little break and then come back to play, I've kinda enjoy it much.

Back in my time at the 'Los Santos Police Department,' I worked as a dispatcher a few times when no Police Cruisers were available for use.  I must say, it is indeed a fun job, although the appearance does make it look boring.  It's a benefitial job both to yourself and to others.

Also, like CB Fasi stated, there is nothing stopping you from continuing to do this job.  Just remember, have fun with it, and keep helping those Ground Units cover up enough space so they can catch all those Suspects.

ah it was you, i already wonderd who the hell is that freecop who knows it all that good,
but what i find about dispatching:

its not really needed, all you do is repeating whatever someone else said,
so if everyone just looks good on radio they know it also,
and i wouldnt do it myself either, i think its really boring to just stand inside LSPD,
and talk in radio and look at radio without doing anything, kinda boring

but do whatever you like, nobody stops you to do it

I really like when you dispatch, this is really really nice and improve RP. I hope you'll continue to do that or some more Dispatchers will do that to help :P.

Keep it up.

It realy helps when there is a dispatcher in your unit.
I have done it from time to time, giving back up and additional support.
Very professional and showing good signs of qualifications as an ARPD Member!

I like this idea. I'd like to see future scripting abilities added so users can also dispatch from within the PD more "officially", like with a computer at the front desk, a chair, microphone, a police car radio sound effect playing in the background like what's in the PD cars...that'd be freaking cool! :)

Would be awesome!
If we could manage teamspeak and get a virtual police radio, this could be made possible;
Someone could maybe be in the offices at VCPD HQ that has access to an interface of a map showing all opperatives. They could send in reinforcements etc. Cool idea!

To be quite honest I gotta agree with CBF as no scripts are needed for this kinda roleplaying job. Its just sitting infront of dispatch and write this in radio (/r Dispatcher: ).
