Police Academy
« on: June 28, 2009, 17:34:29 pm »
This is an idea.

What if we had a police academy in argo (SAMP) Where the cadets STAYED and did training there daily for 5 days then went out and did some police work for 5 days gaining field experience.

This is like the the film, Police Academy. Then we could train them up so they'd be professional and be prepared.

I have a location to put the academy (we could build it like the LV Pursuit base). I want to see what others' think.

Well acutally both sides need that, as cadet is still studying and learning so is freecop anyway. I like your idea.

Great idea! This would be awesome because it could implement the current forum academy to an in-game one, which would give them the experience they need! It could be run similarly to the driving schools as well, allowing freecops and cadets to learn before they are certified! Freecops would also benefit from this because it would allow them to train BEFORE joining ARPD, which on it's own has requirements you must meet to apply to it...

Okay. So what we should do is have dedicated academy staff.
Such as a Commandant (moi)
An Academy Captain
An Academy Lieutenant.
And academy trainers.

Also, this could be the layout:

Scheduled trainings would be awesome.

We had idea of scheduled trainings, but in case of different time-zones, different time people can join it failed.

Easy solution, open more classes which serve other time zones.

You're officer, apply to be trainer of our academy, let's see how will you solve it :)
1) You cannot make one time, when every student can join server and be active for such time.
2) Create programme with lessons which you could do on manouver place (as you said, they couldn't work in city for first 2 weeks), every day for 2 weeks...
3) Find trainers who would join server and every day for months would train cadets.. It is supposed to be relax and having fun on server, not work...

Flameman, you could still easily recruit alot of trainers so that you have atleast 2 for every time zone. At some point or another the overlapping time zones would allow for Cadets to find atleast one class they can join. If you hold the classes weekly, even if they miss two classes, they will still have time to catch up.

We have 3 (at least) on evenings and late nights (3 AM and later). I don't know about mornings though, it is very late on my zone to be online at that time.
