« on: December 19, 2009, 00:49:21 am »
Hey,
Sorry I had tried to send an email but it failed to send ?

You guys should really upgrade to SMF 1.1.11 as 1.1.9 has many vunrabilities and is a portential threat to the saftey of this forum.

I have been speaking with Command Staff about this. Due to some special add-ons, they are unable to do it right now. Both ARPD and ARFD are waiting on SMF's release to solve our issues regarding this.

Note: ARPD is waiting because updating will make their add-ons incompatible. ARFD is waiting to update because we are using the latest version and are unable to use the add-ons. A great example for both sites is the login form you see on the ARPD main page. Can't be used in anything but SMF 1.1.9 or below, or SMF 2 and above. That's what is holding them back, and keeping us from updating it.

Someone actually recently updated it to 1.1.9 from 1.1.8 I believe lol. It's just a matter of time. It's all down to SMF2. When it's released, you will see all the awesome and amazing changes, including the much needed information updates, come along.

I love the current ARPD forum though, its plain, simple, and rarely ever goes down :(

I agree.  Ever since the main forums were upgraded, everything has been glitchy and rather unstable.

Trust me, SMF2 will be much more stable and secure when it comes to that point. It will also have a much more modern feel, making ARPD seem that much more professional with their site. Both ARPD and ARFD are also using an old Joomla theme for their main page with needs legacy settings to run. That's not the best choice anymore since it's no longer supported. That too will change thankfully.
