Remain Calm
« on: June 21, 2012, 16:30:16 pm »
This decision was not made with the Support of Ronnel / Jasakka so therefor it can be reversed. In times of panic us Argonathorins have been know to rage forums and make some very stupid comments. (Ex: any server hacking or shutdown for more than 12 hours) Everyone needs to just relax and process the fact that people are looking out for the best for us and will come and support us. Unill then everyone put on their little blue hat get in a patrol car and show Argonath how the most Highly Trained Freecops Role play and dont let me catch anyone acting like some 4 day old new guy run and gunning all over the place.

Besides... lets just enjoy the fact that for the time being there would be no: assignments, patrol reports and (for the sergeants) weekly department review and mandatory organized patrol reports that needs to be done until this whole mess has been fixed. Remember that everyone is being reviewed, not fired.

So let us all just calm down and wait and see what happens next from here.

This should be a lesson for regulations-breakers, SAPD is an elite organization with rules.. It doesn't have limitations on role-play, but limitations on crossing the line.

Understand that some members of the upper command did not know of these things happening and it came to us as a shock just as to you. However we will try to find out what the best course of action and how to resolve this immediately. Do not come to me or others for answers as we do not just have them yet.

Be patient and trust in your command, this will be fixed very shortly. As for those who are speculating and spreading rumours please stop causing a mass panic attack, NO ONE is fired yet.... to my understanding everyone is being vetted and reviewed.

Signed,
Captain Kenny

From what I have heard all SAPD are on review so you should still comply to SAPD regulations. Just don't go too crazy :D

There was no shitstorm?  :trust:

Anyway, I think I made my point in another topic that has been recently locked, I don't see where it is going to 'shit' as I think the SAPD are all fully trained members.

What irritates me, is that the low ranks always to take the blame.

Take us, cadets as the example. We had no idea what is going on since we dont have any access to some boards. Yet, we have been revoked badges and are left in the uknown with a constant wonder of what the hell is going on.

But no-one dared to touch Captains, as i said in other topic, when they're pretty much the ones to take blame, if they can oversee major breach of procedures and serious misconduct of the officers in their departament.

Are you now trying to say that we cannot say anything against the command staff? To be honest the only ones trying to do something in the departament were Jaaska and Paul, all others just watched and followed orders, instead of trying to do something. Yet, we, Cadets and Officers are the ones that have to pay for their mistakes.

I will give you a little bit more brief description of my opinion.

A SAPD Captain is supposed to lead a certain SAPD Sub-departament alongside with his other SAPD duties. He has to make sure that there are no misconducts in his departament, and if there are, to deal with those people performing those misconducts accordingly.
Now, did you see that scandal on Argonath forums with that "LSPD special patrol"? When SAPD officers took clown skins, took a bus and started abusing everyone and everywhere? Now, if a captain could have overlooked such a major breach of regulations, do you think he is eligible for his duties?
IF those captains or whoever was in charge, would have punished those , that have performed misconducts, do you think such a step like this would be required? Would i now be posting in this topic defending myself and my opinion? No.

I do not really see how expressing my opinion without actually shitting on someone is making me uneligible for duties.

As always, people are only thinking of short term effects. Remember, these things happen to allow for good Long Term effects to take place. This is very much like what happens in a real police department, we have a yearly review of our conduct, actions and work ethic and these reviews are meant to give officers an understanding of not only their weak points, but their positives as well. We are all guilty at some point or another of doing something questionable, but the key point is we need to show we understand the mistakes and can improve. The SAPD Command only want to ensure quality over quantity, and many of you forget that people have been complaining and asking for something like this for a while. Trust in the Command staff like Flameman and Kenny have said and you will have no problems, trying to pass blame around or starting rumours about this sort of thing only digs you a deeper grave.

Remember, Fun is #1, if you get angry about such things like this, remember you are not alone and go take a little rest. We are all in the same boat together :)

And to add on to posts that were posted well I typed this up. There is a difference between making a big deal about issues with command staff, and reporting it properly. Although the current system may not be perfect, there is always ways to improve it. And as SAPD members your job is not only to support SAPD in game, but to also provide feedback in order to improve it. SAPD is made up of many people from many nationalities, how you approach another person about an issue may not come across the same to them as you intend it to, be it the language barrier, or maybe just the customs or habits of your particular self.

@ Max
There is a time and a place for everything. Sometimes promoting things publicly is not the best thing to do. Although you may feel it is your right to do so, you must look at an alternative way to express an opinion, such as a private talk. I agree with you, people need to be able to express their opinions, this is the only way we can have positive changes and improvements, but as I say, there is a time and place for everything and right now we have bigger issues to deal with :)
