History of SRU
« on: December 07, 2014, 00:11:26 am »
Special Response Unit
Throwback 2009-2011

Leader:
Ben Samiir

"Founding of the S.R.U
The Predators of the LSPD Police Departement hunting through the streets of Argonath afther possible targets.
The SRU (Special Response Unite), is raised in September 2009 because, of the high criminality in the City, made a part of the judicial bridage. The SRU subnamed with "Flying Brigade" they have recived this name, because of there fast and accurat way of operating.

Description of the LSPD - SRU
The Los Santos Police Department Special Response Unit is a special group of hand selected Officers who respond to emergency calls in the fastest response time available. There job is to Eliminate threats to the public well being in the fastest and most efficient way possible without putting civilian life at stake. Trained to drive and pursue under the most extreme circumstance, the LSPD - SRU makes sure that no high risk suspect stands in the way of harming anyone in the metropolitan area.

Activities of the LSPD - SRU
The LSPD - SRU has a large array of duties and activities which include but not limited too:
Extraordinary Apprehensions and Interventions where the target is known to be armed and dangerous.
Surveillance on our LSPD members in traffic stops.  (( Not to catch them on corruption but to protect them.))
Recruitment and training also for technical advice.
Giving ARPD/FBI members Support on dangerous Interventions.
Fast responding. Like we communicate by Team Speak 3 we are supposed to respond in less then 2 min over the whole SA map.
Always heavy armed. With our weapons and our high trained attitude. Civilians will be impressed.
Terminating chases in a short time.
Fast Undercover cars. We are supposed to catch suspects fast.
Special trained for dangerous arrests.
Violence in group
Urban violence
ARPD give us their list of stolen cars we track them.
Robbery with violence
Snatching
Fast responding on C30
Special tactics in chases to give the suspect less chances to escape or find a vehicle to escape
We use a large Database so we know who we have infront of us.

Vehicles and Weapons used by the LSPD - SRU
Vehicles
The vehicles of the SRU are black Buffalo's/Infernus/Sultans and very hard to notice between the regular traffic so that they can operate so invisible as possible in the City of Los Santos. The members of the SRU operate in uniform as in civilian clothes. Depends of the mission we have. They train on regular base with the USM of argonath and special forces of the Los Santos army. Trust me you don't wonna meet them.

Weapons used by the LSPD - SRU:
Standard issued Duty Equipment (Nite Stick, Deagle, SMG-MP5, Pepper Spray)
Combat Shotgun or M4 Carbine Assault Rifles
Body Armour"

SRU has very low chances to be opened, due to some of the actions performed at later point by its founder and few of the newer members. But with that being said 2009-2011 were good years for SRU and they had a lot of good veterans, sadly newer generations broke the group.

Good topic TinMan!

I remember SRU, was around back then, only on different account and different name . (Thomas_Mira anyone? )
I liked the way it was organised, the disciplined manner it operated on, but I really disliked it. As I see it, it's original purpose was to engage on suspects that regular officers are not able to deal with and that have caused a C30 and so on. However, more than once I, myself, have witnessed SRU being deployed on a simple traffic stop evader. It was a good concept until it became an armed to teeth suspect hunting squad. No offense meant, I'm just stating my opinion.

SRU was the best pursuit units we had in SAPD, perhaps in the entire SA:MP. It was a privilege for me working alongside with them back in the old days.

This topic proves how much everyone liked the Division. http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/forum/index.php?topic=11346.0
Read the replies of that topic.   :cop:

You sure about that Nexus? Best in ALL of SA:MP?

I would like to see SRU as a High Speed Pursuit Unit... That may be possible. Surprised those old videos still work though.

You don't even like your own life not SRU....Dude get the things straight,,,,Not everyone will not like SRU cause they rammed ur suspect.....I know that i can't speak because SRU didn't exist when i was a part of argonath but with the things i've seen and heard about SRU make me think that it was the best Division argonath ever had in police duty. I don't think that there will be another Division like it in SAPD....Only if it gets Re-open from one of high ranked members or old SRU.

While SRU were a good division back in the time, talking nonsense and sucking out facts from your thumb won't help anybody. If you weren't around to see them, don't talk. Pictures don't represent situations, nor topics, you can only see the real deal within the game.

And this topic was created to honour the history of SRU, both bad and good things, if you can't stay unbias and just post your point of view and move on, then don't bother posting.

Say what you want, SRU was never defeated and SRU never lost a suspect in a pursuit. Anyone that says we did is a liar. We trained for hours and hours every weekend to ensure that.

PROVOKING ANOTHER COMMUNITY MEMBER IS NOT ALLOWED - Plam

You are not the brightest flower yourself, so its not really approprite to talk about other people like that, especially knowing your own history.

On that note, the next post that aims to begin an argument or to provoke/insult another community member, will result in all the posts in this topic to be deleted, except the first one and the topic will be locked, so it will serve only as a history reference.

Anyways, speaking of SRU..
Isn't it a SWAT division now or something?

SRU(SWAT) was removed by ARPD Commissioner Jaaskaa about 2 years ago.

I was in SWAT when Jaaskaa did the reformation, and yes while the official SRU was closed by Jaaskaa, we did still have the Buffalos as an equipment option for maybe a month or two until Chase decided to finally give them up for the "regular" SWAT tactics. If that was the right choice or not, well I guess that's debatable.

To be honest I'm happy high speed chase vheicles such as buffalo and bullet are no longer allowed. It looks much more professional when officers use police equipment  :gandalf:
