The Phonetic Alphabet - British Police Standard (NATO)
« on: April 03, 2009, 22:26:10 pm »
The NATO phonetic alphabet is used to relay individual letters to other units over a radio. This is mainly for team speak but is available in /r radio if you want.

A = Alpha
B = Bravo
C = Charlie
D = Delta
E = Echo
F = Foxtrot
G = Golf
H = Hotel
I = India
J = Juliet
K = Kilo
L = Lima
M = Mike
N = November
O = Oscar
P = Papa
Q = Quebc
R = Romeo
S = Sierra (Pron: See-aer-ah)
T = Tango
U = Uniform
V = Victor
W = Whisky
X = Xray
Y = Yankee
Z = Zulu

You may want to know it.

Lol, I knew all of these, you would expect it of me when you have a Brother who comes every night and talks about his job non-stop.

He is Sergeant (I think) for the Essex Police.

No they arn't Jimmy, this is the NATO version of the phonetic alphabet, NATO is the "North Atlantic Treaty Organisation" in which european armies are united together, America has its own phonetic alphabet, this one is for british troops, etc.

As far as I know, this Phonetic Alphabet is used World-Wide.
----------

Also, yes, he got all of them correct.  I always knew the Phonetic Alphabet, and wondered why 'ARPD' never used it.
