OFFICER DOWN
« on: August 31, 2009, 17:34:27 pm »
The "Officer Down" notices is a new post series being done and conducted by the San Andreas Sheriff's Division.

Every day, millions of Police Officers strap on a bulletproof vest, and load a handgun, and kiss their loved ones good bye, knowing that the next few hours may be their last. Hellbent on the decision to help the public in distress, and enforce what they believe in, they do it without second guess or any regret.

Many of us in the Sheriff's Division work in some form of on-the-job Law Enforcement. We have a few Community Service Officers, Police Officers, Explorers, and Academy Cadets. Due to the realism and seriousness of our Division, we honor and respect those men and women of Law Enforcement.

Every time an Officer in real life is downed in the field by an act of violence, hate or anger in the line of duty will be posted and honored by a community of people who respect the job that they do.

Next time you go on patrol on Argonath, and /duty, remember the danger of this career in real life. You can spawn, duty up, and you're given your weapons to defend yourself, however you can respawn when you are killed. Officers do the same exact thing in real life that you are doing in this server, except they don't get to come back. Remember these men as they served well, and remember: they were murdered because of the badge they wore, not because of who they were.

May he rest in peace, and God bless his soul.  One of the many officers in this world - downed for doing their job.

I like this idea for a topic.  Keep it going.  Very nicely organised as well.

Easier English? Dude, that is plain English. I don't think it could be explained any better. The location mentioned in the title should have been a dead giveaway. :cop:

Here's is the Memorial Website for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies downed in the line of duty:
http://www.sacsheriff.com/memorial/index.cfm

The most recent happened just last year, and a memorial event was held in his honor this month, which can be seen here:
http://www.sacsheriff.com/media/0821_canfield_mc_event.cfm

Here is the memorial site for the California Highway Patrol:
http://www.chp.ca.gov/memorial/index.html

All are to be remembered for their courage and will power to serve and protect both those who did and didn't deserve it, each and every day. Our hearts and our thoughts will continue to go out to them.

My area's been lucky, but it's coming...

Only four local deaths - Chico PD, Willows PD Chief of Police, Tehama County Sheriff's Dept Sheriff in the 1800's, and Red Bluff Police Officer Mobellio who was shot getting gas because the guy was making "a political statement".

Good news is, not many officers have bit the bullet here, but the bad news is... It's coming. I don't mean that I know of any Officers that will be killed, but statistics show that it'll be happening... Unfortunately.

You sure? The Officers of my previous Dept. wore them diagonally. Our new Department has 6-point stars, and wear it virtually the same.

Dunno.. Not sure anymore that it's a "specific" way of wearing it, just preference.

It is generally more common to wear them horizontally though. Border Patrol is the only known major law enforcement agency in the United States that only wears them diagonally.

You're very welcome man. It is an honor to know that there are some officers out there that still care about those who have fallen in the line of fire.
