Did you test to see if the lights are synced beforehand?

Supported 100% You moaners and complainers can just get over it. You are the same ones that yell at free cops about this is the RP server and not a Cops and Robbers server and you contradict yourselves and trash with down talk about new ideas for RP. There are traffic collisions every day in the server, no one reports accidents, no one ever stops to RP a accident, no one ever drives the speed limit. So should we through out the AVDS right hand rule as Emerson has mentioned? Should we through out the speed limits? You don't have to put a imitation on your RP. RP can go as far as you can take it.

People its time to stop thinking in and outside of the box but realize there is no box. Of course if you are out in another city with no one around, you don't have to stop at traffic stops. Do you drive the speed limit when no one is around? So I hope this get implemented because it will give Officer's more to do then to sit around fussing all day, keep the citizens of Argonath safer from Traffic collisions, and lastly it it will generate more RP opportunities.

Did you guys even count how many traffic lights there are? For example: LSPD - Ganton Gym: TEN!

No need to get anggry Shawn, this is only a proposal so everybody has the right to state what they think about it. Anyways I' am against this law. As far as I'm concerned it'll be just a waste of time because nobody will follow it just like the other laws we have anyways... As a player playing in this game I would just probably speed past every single red light I see 'cause there is no way I'm wasting my limited playing time waiting for traf lights to turn green.

Supported 100% This is a RP server not a race server, it would be awesome if the lights would be synced because it will be like in real life :) :cop:

I don't support this. I keep hearing this argument in so many different cases: 'This is role-play, not real-life.' How should it be different with traffic lights?

Not supported. It useless to stop at every traffic light when you are miles away from the others, like for example in LV.

Regarding my earlier post: I was referring to this topic only, and just poking a little fun at SATC - seems my humour is wasted.  The reason being, is that I would not consider cops sitting at traffic lights waiting for that dastardly player to .... wait for it ... RUN A RED LIGHT!!!?!  :wow:  (Sorry I fail at taking this topic too seriously)... not sure what personal attack was in that, nor where my SAPD race driving career has come from. And as for speeders, I believed I have said that I wouldn't waste my time on speeders before (and I have never said I supported speed laws either, but I do not go around saying speed laws are rubbish etc).

Proposition 2 basically covers basic driving skills... If your coming to an intersection and you see a radar blip coming, common sense tells you to slow down or you might hit something (or some sense tells you to go faster and if you do hit something it will be such an incredible crash it would be worth the possible fees' involved). So basically, even with or without traffic lights, you generally tend to stop or slow down if you can see someone coming.

A lot of talk about 'will increase the roleplay'. Step back a minute, you roleplay with traffic lights? I mean, sure, me and a few traffic lights have got into fights now and again, even some wars... but I have never considered them as increasing my roleplay...

This is a roleplay server, and I do not see increased roleplay from introducing this new law. I see more criminals suspected for such an unworthwhile cause. What is the most you can roleplay from someone running a light, or not running a light?
Guy doesn't run a light: He has stopped at traffic light. This enables the other drivers at the junction to go, and pedestrians to cross. Even though very few places are populated enough to emulate this.
Guy runs a red: A cop spending his lunch break monitoring traffic lights bursts into action, spraying coffee out of his nose as he spots that law defying master criminal bust through that light. Oh he's going down, that bastards gonna feel the wrath of SAPD he thinks to himself. Now 2 things could happen. The lawbreaker stops, and there is a regular traffic stop. He pays a fine. Rp over (in a nutshell).
The alternative, is that the lawbreaker doesn't stop. This might cause him to speed, drive dangerously, shoot at cops etc, all of which generally have limited RP involved ) But all have 1 thing in common. So many more serious crimes could arise from 1 traffic stop.

Now consider for a moment. Sometimes crimes are only caused by the presence of cops. Say 8 in 10 criminals would rather evade (get su) than pay the fine (due to money, not understanding RP etc). Perhaps 5 of that 8 will go on to do more serious crimes (since not many will surrender as soon as they got su- I'm being generous). Using my rough statistics, this means from 10 traffic stops, 5 criminals will commit serious crimes because of the traffic stop... (these statistics are just an example).

EDIT#2
Crashing cars has plenty of RP potential, but not many do the involved RP, since people are probably driving somewhere for a reason, usually that reason involves RP.

In a nutshell... I think it will make more problems than it solves, and has very limited 'RP' at all. Roleplay is something you make from your imagination, not necassarily something that resembles RL the closest.

EDIT #1:

This made my day

as the traffic signals are all synchronized and the SASD TE Division has tested this.

Actually I have it from a reliable source that the sync is not 100% and because of that this law will be refused...
